Campus Overview
Originally moved to Bank Street in Greenwich Village, the reasons for the origin of the name was the College to its present location in 1970. The campus has a graduate school, university education of teachers, children and service centers established in various other educational programs of the Community.
Brief History
Founded in 1916 by Lucy Sprague Mitchell, the Institute originally focused on testing and educational development of children. A nurserySchool was opened in 1918 Teacher training until they start the year 1930 and marked the beginning of the definition of this Bank Street College of Education. A unique contribution to the university was the development of "Bank Street Readers" books with the diversity of races in 1965. Programs offered
